Music would be fun for me to do.
What exactly is cutscenes? Does it mean just ideas?
Sometimes when I look at an .lua file, it seems like you could almost figure out some parts of the meanings. Better yet, I wonder if it is possible for anyone to download the software to learn about .lua files, hmmm.
I’ll should look around, sometimes I learn well with self teaching ( or I just crash my computer ) lol πŸ™‚

Well, lets not worry too much about Redemption yet, I think that there is enough of us (well im not a developer OR moderator) but enough loyal gamers here at pkzone that maybe we can help somehow to finish it up? We can’t lose hope yet πŸ™‚

» Posted By Woremochine On 9. January 2011 @ 05:54

This doesn’t sound very good πŸ™
What happens tp pkzone.org? Or is it not affiliated with JoWood?

Painkiller Treasure Hunt MOD

No problem. When you are ready, don’t let all this info overwhelm you, it is realy not that bad and the Treasure Hunt Mod is WELL WORTH the troubles to get it to work correctly. Plus, if you already backed up your games (which appears that you have), even less to worry about πŸ™‚
You see, the first time I installed Treasure Hunt, all I had to do was the renaming thing. Unfortunately my computer crashed while updating my motherboard, about 10 days ago or so.. The update somehow made it so i could not connect to the internet, it said I had no connection available. No matter what I tried to do to fix it, did’t work. So I tried to “Roll Back Driver” ? Well… from the point, of having to restart my computer for updates to take affect, it never would reach my logon window, not even in safe mode. I had to do a factory restore (Nooooooo!!) Anyhow, the second time around for installing Treasure Hunt, this is how I had to do it, to get it to work unfortunately. Even though I typed a lot of info on ‘how to’, it realy only takes about 10 minutes or so, not hard, just overwhelming with info πŸ™‚
You and I must have similar OS system setups or something, because we seem to have similar problems lol.

Hold up the_silent, this is the way i was talking about, for installation. Please, pay CLOSE attention to these instructions, for they are LONG. Even if it means highlight all of this reply, right click/copy/, then on desktop, right click/new/Text Document.txt, open, paste this reply into .txt so you won’t have to rely on the internet. This could also work for anyone else who may have same issue as us. I have had to do similiar installations on a couple of other mods (example : Tree Of Woe) and WOE!! what a pain in a butt, lol.
Ok here it goes :

Treasure Hunt Mod Installation by Wore :

!!! *** Before doing this type of installation, always back-up your Painkiller directory by copying it onto your desktop, (or a sepparate hard drive if available is always good in case of computer crashes) before installing Treasure Hunt Mod (or any other mod for that matter) JUST IN CASE this installation goes wrong, you can delete your modified Painkiller directory, and copy the ‘back-up’ back into original directory, and NOT have to re-install everything. Trust me, I know, I have made it a priority to do this before I install any mods, anymore. lol, I have had to re-install too many times now. If this works, back it up again before any other future installs *** !!!

1) Launch the Treasure Hunt Installation executable file : TreasureHunt.exe

2) Go into folder Treasure HuntData (in your PK directory, may differ from mine) :
(“C:Program FilesPainkillerPainkiller Black EditionTreasure HuntData”)

(Most likely yours would be : “C:Program FilesDreamcatcherPainkiller Black EditionTreasure HuntData”)

3) Copy files “TreasureHunt.pak” and “TreasureHuntData.pak”

4) Paste them into PK Black Data folder : “C:Program FilesDreamcatcherPainkiller Black EditionData”)

5) Go into folder Treasure HuntDataMusic :
“C:Program FilesDreamcatcherPainkiller Black EditionTreasure HuntDataMusic”

6) Copy file “pk_treasure_hunt_battlemix.mp3”

7) Paste it into PK Black DataMusic folder : “C:Program FilesDreamcatcherPainkiller
Black EditionDataMusic”

8) Now, copy THIS ENTIRE command line (excluding *****, including both “”) :

***** “C:Program FilesDreamcatcherPainkiller Black EditionBinPainkiller.exe” -lscripts TreasureHunt.pak *****

9) On your Desktop, on Treasure Hunt shortcut icon, right click, select properties

10) Paste into Target window (overwriting the existing default command line, which
reads : “C:Program FilesDreamcatcherPainkiller Black EditionTreasure
HuntBinPainkiller.exe” -lscripts TreasureHunt.pak) Now your shortcut should look like
the “Play Painkiller” shortcut, but the name remains as “Treasure Hunt”.
Basically, you took the Treasure Hunt folder out of the picture (in command line,
between Painkiller Black Edition and bin.)

11) Return to data folder : “C:Program FilesDreamcatcherPainkiller Black
EditionData”

12) Change LScripts folder to LScripts2

13) Double click Treasure Hunt shortcut to launch game (sign the pact – Treasure Hunt)

14) Do not play yet, it may (probably will at some point anyhow) crash. Instead, do
this : Esc – LoadSave GameNew Save, and exit game.
— (saved game should appear as : Treasurehuntmap) —

15) Return to data folder : “C:Program FilesDreamcatcherPainkiller Black EditionData”

16) Change LScripts2 folder BACK to LScripts

17) Double click Treasure Hunt shortcut to launch game (it will just launch the same way as “Play Painkiller” does, basically “Treeasure Hunt” shortcut and folder become redundant, useless) But if it helps you to play the mod, then hey, it’s all ok.

18) Load saved game : (Treasurehuntmap)

19) ‘Hopefully’ have fun

Be sure you have the same mods and such already installed when they WERE saved, before you copy your saved games folders BACK in, otherwise it MAY crash your game when you load your saves (the saved games will be looking for particular LScripts files and all). This also I am not completely sure that your game will crash, it just makes sense to me this way, true?

To be honest with you, I can’t realy remember. I think so because I know I have done this before, and the Tarot Cards are based on where you are in the levels / chapters, so I am going to say yes.

My saved games are in my Painkiller Black Edition directory :
C:Program FilesPainkillerPainkiller Black EditionSaveGames
Just copy them onto your desktop (for quick access), install PK again, and copy files back.
Supernatural :
C:Program FilesPainkillerPainkiller SupernaturalSaveGames
Overdose and Resurrection (different, and I don’t know why in user)
C:Documents and SettingsuserLocal SettingsApplication DataPainkiller OverdoseSaves
C:Documents and SettingsuserLocal SettingsApplication DataPainkiller ResurrectionSaves

I wish I had an answer for you, but my problem was a little different from yours. Once I renamed the folder LScripts to LScripts2, I was able to load the game. Once I was in the game, and didn’t do anything there, all I did was save it as ‘Save New’, closed the game, renamed LScripts2 BACK to LScripts, restarted Painkiller, loaded ‘Treasurehintmap’ which I saved, I had no more problems.
Wish I could help more. BUT, If I may ask, :
1) What steps did you take to install it?
And do this for me:
2) Right click on the desktop shortcut for Treasure Hunt properties shortcut tab copy ENTIRE LINE in the window (block, body, whichever) for where it says target, INCLUDING both of the ” ”
3) Paste it here in a reply, there is still one way I MAY be able to help πŸ™‚
Example of what I am saying. :
properties shortcut (tab at top) Target
“C:Program FilesPainkillerPainkiller Black EditionBinPainkiller.exe” -lscripts TreasureHunt.pak <—– This is how mine reads, but there is more to it then just changing it. I just want to see what yours says.

I'll check back here again

Thnx,
†Wore†

you are welcome, anything to try to help. I know that some problems are unique to the computer’s setup / and gamer, and can not all be fixed by same patch all the time πŸ™‚

I may have in the first video, i can’t remember, and i already deleted that saved game, only have newest, when i started all over.

» Posted By Woremochine On 30. December 2010 @ 20:13

sometimes i play using pkweapons, but not in this particular case, i dont think. well, at least not in the second video. i only went straight to shotgun. normaly idont use any cheats for first time playing game / mods
you said you know something from me, what does this mean? something helpful maybe (lol) ? It would be nice to know that i was actually able to help you for a change πŸ™‚

» Posted By Woremochine On 30. December 2010 @ 20:07

In the first video, it was not the first weapon, and probably not the last, i haven’t made it to the BIG HIGH castle yet. In the second video, where all is explained during, it was my first weapon, in fact it was the only thing i did, just for troubleshooting purposes, i just went straight to shotgun.
