Already officialy known the publisher of the game Painkiller: Recurring Evil is Nordic Games GmbH, what isn’t a surprise, because the labels JoWooD and DreamCatcher are relaunched under the Nordic Games GmbH brand. On the Nordic Games forum was published a short information about Recurring Evil. An official release date is still not announced.

ANNOmaniac (Community Leader) about the game:

Battle never ceases in the realm known as Hell. This time around it’s a battle for the freedom of your very own soul. Can you make the escape from your prison hidden on the bottom pit of Hell? Do you have the guts to travel through the most dangerous, twisted, and mind-boggling areas which are infamous for being feared even by demons themselves? You better be prepared to significantly downsize (read: annihilate) the demonic population in this corner of Hell.
Once again, you’ll have a chance to absorb the magnificent, dark atmosphere of the good (or evil?) Painkiller, the only true oldschool First Person Shooter makes its return. Tough as 25 year old beef jerky, absolutely no signs of remorse, and without any touch of motion blur or other technological makeup… Just Painkiller, nothing else!

  • 5 new levels with stunning locations like an Angkor temple, a massive old warehouse, and a highway with a huge pile-up of cars, a monastery, and a cemetery.
  • This new campaign guarantees for 5+ hours of new and genuine Painkiller action
  • Genuine Painkiller action includes, but is not limited to:
    • A Sh*t load of demons to “deal with”
    • No Autoheal, you got to earn your healing the hard way
    • Save your game progress at any time (i.e. no checkpoint wanderings), or without any checkpoints at all, choose your difficulty setting wisely
  • Even more bloodshed and action per square meter: immerse into freaking intense gameplay & ultimately challenging FPS action
  • More dense maps and sick enemies than ever before: kill over 6.000 uniquely spawned wicked monsters
  • Continue the story of good old Bill Sherman (Daniel Garner, should you ask, is currently busy)
  • Improved graphics, AI, environments, as well as new atmospheric soundtrack

Don’t forget add that Hellgun later in DLC or patch after release.

Why later? I want that when the game will be published.

There might be some problems with that one implemented as a part of the game when released. Similar reason why there’s no BooH 2 weapons and 2 weapons from Overdose in Redemption.

    19. February 2012 22:14

The Hellgun was good working in Sviatoslav’s mod, so there shouldn’t be problems with that. I guess Eggtooth resigned intentionally from those weapons (2 BooH weapons and 2 weapons from Overdose in Redemption), I think that it wasn’t the problem.

Every version of PK overwrited other part of source code. Weapons from BooH were crashing and made game unbalanced in Resurrection. Eggtooth cleaned and rewrited game code in Redemption but still there were some problems so they are removed to prevent strange things. Since Overdose and Resurrection engine isn’t behaving like BlackEd 1.64.

Like Eggtooth said, they made the game unstable and crashed the game. Remember it’s post-Resurrection source code, not original 1.64 behaviour and he wouldn’t release something unoptimized and crashing like Homegrown Games did with Resurrection. That’s why Hellgun will be added later, unless they solve that problem at the Nordic Games side somehow. Also there’s one monster removed because of similar reason. Not much loss, he was annoying. 😉

I’m impatient to see the final result and to have it in my own hands !

anything about COOP? Again fail? Why we can’t have painkiller series like serious sam? :S

Because PK isn’t like Serious Sam. There are some similarities but they aren’t exactly the same and have their own different style when comes to gameplay and design. 😉

PS. Why comments moderation was on earlier? It cut my few post.

Bros , when is it supposed to come out ? No doubts it’s going to be awesome as hell as it’s always been so far . And what do you mean ‘atmospheric soundtrack’ ? I hope it’s gonna be  the same genre as from the Redemption . This game has become my favourite over the years and the ass kicking guitar riffs made the feeling even cooler .
